یَأَی ُّهَا ال َّذِینَ‏ ءَامَنُواْ‏ إِذَا قُمْتُمْ‏ إِلَى الص َّلوةِ‏5:6 O you who believe! When you stand (intend) tooffer the Salah (the prayer),فاغْسِلُواْ‏ وُجُوهَكُمْ‏ وَأَیْدِیَكُمْ‏ إِلَى الْمَرَافِقِ‏ وَامْسَحُواْ‏بِرُؤُوسِكُمْ‏ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ‏ إِلَى الْكَعْبَينِ‏then wash your faces and your hands (forearms) upto the elbows, rub (by passing wet hands over)your heads, and (wash) your feet up to the ankles.وَإِن آُنتُمْ‏ جُنُباً‏ فَاط َّه َّرُواْ‏If you are in a state of Janaba, purify yourselves(bathe your whole body).وَإِن آُنتُم م َّرْضَى أَوْ‏ عَلَى سَفَرٍ‏ أَوْ‏ جَآءَ‏ أَحَدٌ‏ م ِّنْكُم م ِّنَ‏الْغَائِطِ‏ أَوْ‏ لَمَسْتُمُ‏ الن ِّسَآءَ‏ فَلَمْ‏ تَجِدُواْ‏ مَآءً‏ فَتَيَم َّمُواْ‏ صَعِيدًاطَي ِّباً‏ فَامْسَحُواْ‏ بِوُجُوهِكُمْ‏ وَأَیْدِیكُمْ‏ م ِّنْهُ‏But if you are ill or on a journey or any of youcomes from the Gha'it (toilet) or you have touchedwomen and you find no water, then performTayammum with clean earth and rub therewith yourfaces and hands.مَا یُرِیدُ‏ الل َّهُ‏ لِيَجْعَلَ‏ عَلَيْكُم م ِّنْ‏ حَرَجٍ‏ وَلَكِن یُرِیدُ‏لِيُطَه ِّرَآُمْ‏ وَلِيُتِم َّ نِعْمَتَهُ‏ عَلَيْكُمْ‏ لَعَل َّكُمْ‏ تَشْكُرُونَ‏Allah does not want to place you in difficulty, but Hewants to purify you, and to complete His Favor toyou that you may be thankful.47
