The frequency <strong>of</strong> seropositivity <strong>and</strong> positive LTT (lymphocyte transformation test)<br />

was studied on my own clientele (n = 108). The results are presented in Table 3.<br />

The investigations were conducted at the Institute for Medical Diagnostics (IMD) in<br />

Berlin. For more detailed information, please refer to the corresponding reference<br />

[339]. An LTT is not available for Bartonella. An LTT was not performed for<br />

Mycoplasma pneumoniae. The high incidence <strong>of</strong> the Chlamydia trachomatis LTT is<br />

conspicuous <strong>and</strong> unre<strong>so</strong>lved.<br />

According to investigations on my own clientele, CD57 NK cells are frequently<br />

diminished in <strong>chronic</strong> <strong>Lyme</strong> <strong>disease</strong>, but seldom in cases involving coinfections.<br />

However, the basic principle is that CD57 NK cells can be diminished in all <strong>chronic</strong><br />
