Sale of WaterThe water revenue is projected <strong>to</strong> increase by 8.58% from R 596,9 million <strong>to</strong> R 648,3 million.The projected revenue <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> two outer years of <strong>the</strong> <strong>MTREF</strong> period is R 703,9 million and R764,2 million respectively.The city has maintained <strong>the</strong> same step tariff structure that was introduced in <strong>the</strong> previousfinancial year. The percentage increase <strong>for</strong> each tariff level is depicted in <strong>the</strong> table below. Thefirst tariff (0 - 6kl) has been increased by 18% since <strong>the</strong> current tariff is not <strong>co</strong>st reflective. Theinput <strong>co</strong>st of water and <strong>the</strong> <strong>co</strong>st of providing water <strong>to</strong> tap are more than <strong>the</strong> baseline tariff of R4.34.
