The studentscompeted in an essay writing contest that expressed their views about the effects,causation, and solutions to violence. Students from area schools competed in ayouth anti-violence program that was presented to seventh and eighth grade students throughoutthe public and private school systems. The purpose of the program is to promote safety inschools, homes and communities. Students who participate in the program write about theeffects, causation, and solutions to violence.
