The Schultz Junior High volleyball season ended with games against their sister school,<br />

Junior High Home Town Volleyball Game Ends Season<br />

The Schultz Junior High 7 th and 8 th Grade A,B,C Teams ended their volleyball season<br />

playing at <strong>Waller</strong> Junior High School on Thursday, October 27 th . All of the teams played great<br />

together and <strong>Waller</strong> has some great talent to look forward to as these ladies get into high school.<br />

The Schultz 8 th Grade A Team have shown great improvement, not only with skills on the<br />

court, but with learning how to work together and fight together as a team. They played 3 games<br />

against <strong>Waller</strong> Junior High losing the first 9-25, came back to win the second 25-17, and fell in the<br />

third game 15-25. The passers of the evening were Caitlyn Ulrich and Sarah Springer. Cathy<br />

Cone, Brenda Ramirez, and Kylie Bush each had a kill. Also, contributing to a great season was<br />

Stephanie Simmons, Jayme Lenart, Jade Phillips, Amber Roff, Hannah Sanders, Lauren<br />

McCormick, Hannah Burrus, Dena Hernandez, and Jessica Gallard. .<br />

The Schultz Lady Bulldog B Team continued their teamwork and fighting spirit with great<br />

offense and defense giving up few unearned points all night. The incredible service game from<br />

Joccelyn Murphy and Melina Curioz aided the team in their victory. Combined, the ladies scored<br />

up to 15 points and accumulated over 8 aces. These ladies were not alone in their relentless<br />

battle against their opponent, every member on the team stepped up last night and played with<br />

heart and stamina, never giving up. Lise Curioz, Emily Bruner, Chloe Frattalone, Brittany Jones,<br />

Skylar Henderson, Kandice Shaffer, Arianna Ojeda, and Kaley McFaddin all earned a hit last<br />

night with the majority of them earning over 2. Joccelyn Murphy was among this group and once<br />

again proved to be a force on the court reigning down a powerful kill off of Kelly Boyd’s perfect<br />

set. Lise Curioz, Emily Bruner, and Kelly Boyd have been an asset to their team as setters<br />

displaying great hustle, maneuverability on the court, and beautiful sets all season long. These<br />

ladies could not have been as successful without the perfect passes from some of these standout<br />

defensive players: Skylar Henderson, Kelci Chambers, Alyssa Haenal, Arianna Ojeda, Kaley<br />

McFaddin, Sierra Isenberg, Joccelyn Murphy, Emily Bruner, Lise Curioz, and Melina Curioz. As a<br />

team, and only as a team, these ladies have ended their season on a high note with two<br />

consecutive exciting and successful games that demonstrate their commitment and determination<br />

to get three hits on the ball every time. They brought home the victory for their school winning<br />

25-21 and 25-20.<br />

The Schultz Lady Bulldogs 7 th Grade A Team came out and played one of their best<br />

games yet this season. They came to the court with one goal in mind- to win. The Lady Bulldogs<br />

did just that in game one with a score of 25-19. Game two was full of intensity, but the Lady<br />

Bulldogs fell short in the end 26-24. The Lady Bulldogs put up a great fight ultimately losing<br />

game three 25-20. Outstanding players were Clarissa Amaya and Jasmine Matthews-Barnett for<br />

their outstanding serves. Ashley Egesdahl also showed tremendous hustle throughout the night<br />

with great sets. Although the Lady Bulldogs ended their season with a loss, they showed<br />

tremendous improvement and spirit each game.<br />

The 7 th grade B Team played a tough three games. Schultz fell 20-25 in game one.<br />

Outstanding players were Maddison Gore with great passes and serves and Nyya Davis with a<br />

strong hit. Game 2 Schultz won 25-22. The ladies played as a team communicating great passes<br />

and nice serves pulling out the victory. Outstanding hustle was shown by Wendy Esquivel and<br />

Taylor Casey. Awesome footwork was shown by Britney Menchaca grabbing almost every pass<br />

on the back row. Game 3 was a nail biter to the very end with the Schultz Lady Bulldogs pulling<br />

out a huge win 26-24. Taylor Casey had beautiful serves giving Schultz 5 points and 2 service<br />

aces from the service line. Outstanding hustle was shown by Kristy Grossman, Blanca Arellano,<br />

Katelynn Dannebaum, Wendy Esquivel and Haley Sherrod during the last game of the the<br />

season.<br />

Members of the 7 th grade B team are: Devin Muy, Haley Debenedictis, Taylor Casey,<br />

Maddison Gore, Blanca Arellano, Britney Menchaca, Haley Sherrod, Kristy Grossman, Nyya<br />

Davis, Wendy Esquivel, Ericka Corvera, Grace Mainka, Cortney Hernandez, and Savannah<br />

Buchannan. Way to go ladies on an outstanding season.<br />

The competiveness and comradery of both schools was amazing. The coaches would<br />

like to thank the Lady Bulldogs and their parents for an outstanding and memorable season.<br />
