Toensure that the contact system remainsfully functional even during long-termuse in aggressive environments allconducting pins are silver-plated.The quality of the connection meansthat the system is suitable for current inthe mA range up to 16 A continuously.CodingMale and female connectors arecoded using the IEC 309 systemwhere voltage and current types havetheir own „time of day“ to ensure thatthe correct connection is made.3-/4-pole:• 2 h Bus connections• 4 h 110 V AC 2-pole + PE• 5 h 24 V AC 4-pole + PE• 6 h 230 V AC 2-pole + PE• 8 h 24 V DC 4-poleConnection typesThe eXLink is available in two connectiontypes:• Crimp connectionThe conductors are crimped directlyinto the contact pins. The crimpconnection is suitable for all cablesfrom 0.75 to 1.5 mm 2 or in a secondversion for 2.5 mm 2 . Smaller cablescan be soldered.• Cage clamp terminalThis solution allows conductorsbetween 0.5 and 1.0 mm 2 to beinstalled easily as the conductorsdo not have to be crimped into thecontact pins. All plugs and couplersup to and including the 4-pole versioncan be delivered with cage clampterminals.Extended ambienttemperature rangeThe system is approved for a standardambient temperature range of –55 °C34567• 10 h 230 V AC 4-pole + PEto +75 °C. The use of moulded plastic• 12 h 24 V AC 2-pole + PEversions is restricted in mechanicalstrength from –55 °C to –25 °C.
