SETTING UP TO GO | 44.2 <strong>Powered</strong> <strong>Mobility</strong> Trials - The Set-up ProcedureFollow the steps below to seat securely for powered mobility trials:1 Examine posture and joint rangeUse PM Mat Eval (Section 2.3)2 Use body measurements from PM Mat Evalto adjust seat size and angles on trial chair and attach appropriate supports.3 Secure using Postural Support HierarchyProvide hands-on support at key points to stabilise.Apply seating supports and straps to secure; begin with pelvis as shown below.Foam wedges can provide additional support where needed, e.g. trunk, thighs,knees, upper limbs.HeadUpper LimbsShouldersLower limbs and feetSecure the thighsSecure the trunkSecure the pelvis4 Tilt-in-spaceAdjust tilt-in-space for posture and vision.5 Mount access device/controllerThis will be specific to the individual, the device, mounts and locationStart simple, adjust to suit.
