The Sde Boker National Water Technology CenterDescription of the ProjectThe Sde Boker technology center is program for the development of watertechnologies in Israel. The object of the center is to extend aid to the watersector, as a transition from the research and development stage to themanufacturing and marketing stage and to lay the foundation for the statusof Israeli industry as a principle factor in the worldwide water technologymarket. As part of the more extensive program, a number of steps willbe taken to encourage academic research and industrial research anddevelopment, including the establishment of a national water technologycenter at Sde Boker. The center will combine business initiatives withacademic research and will strengthen the link between academia andindustry. The Center will operate on a pro-active basis to find researchersand research with potential in the water sector, for the promotion ofresearch and development of projects the purpose of which is to carryout an initial technological feasibility study and for the preparation andactivation of areas for experiments.The Project is being undertaken in conjunction with the Ministry of Finance,the Investment Promotion Center, the Office of the Chief Scientists' at theMinistry of Industry, Trade and Labor and the Ministry for the Developmentof the Negev and Galilee.Target Group:Researchers, academics, entrepreneurs and technology companies in thewater sector.13 < Invest in the Negev and GalileeMinistry of Indusry, Trade and Labor > Negev and Galilee Development Center
