Continuous vehicle flow from the street(u, v) over a given number of intersection phases can be formalized as onetask T uv from the scheduling point of view. For example there exist threetasks T 26 , T 56 and T 96 for intersection 6. The number of phases is givenby the urban architecture of the intersection and by the intersection controlstrategy. The intersections are the resources from the scheduling point ofview and the tasks are dedicated there by the engineering skills. The processing time p uv of task T uv is calculated by Algorithm 5.1 (Partof the Algorithm shows the solution of the consecutive steps in TORSCHEfor intersection 6). This algorithm computes the processing time from theassignment of MMCF f i (u, v), from the cycle time C and from the precedenceconstraints of the tasks (defined by the intersection control strategy).Table 5.3 shows processing time of tasks for three intersections (6,7 and 8).Table 5.3: Processing time of tasks and offset for intersections 6,7,8u, v 5,6 2,6 9,6 6,7 3,7 9,7 7,8 22,8p uv 21.3 68.7 24.4 29.6 60.4 7.5 18.4 71.6ϕ uv - - - 9.5 - - 8 -
