NGĀTI HAUĀ <strong>DEED</strong> <strong>OF</strong> <strong>SETTLEMENT</strong><strong>ATTACHMENTS</strong>3: RELATIONSHIP AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CROWN AND NGĀTI HAUĀ WITH RESPECT TOTE KAUWHANGANUI O MĀHUTA AND NGĀTI HAUĀ TAONGA(c)(d)(e)(f)(g)(h)(i)(j)(k)develop, conserve and house securely the collections of art and items relating tohistory and the natural environmentexhibit, or make available for exhibition by other public art galleries, museums, andallied organisations, such material from its collections as the Board determinesconduct research into matters relating to the collections or associated areas ofinterest and to assist others in such researchprovide an education service in connection with its collectionsdisseminate information relating to its collections, and to any other matters relatingto the Museum and its functionsco-operate with and assist other New Zealand museums in establishing a nationalservice, and in providing appropriate support to other institutions and organisationsholding objects or collections of national importanceco-operate with other institutions and organisations having objectives similar tothose of Te Papamake best use of the collections in the national interestdesign, construct and commission any building or structure required by theMuseum.24. In performing its functions Te Papa must:(a)(b)(c)(d)have regard to the ethnic and cultural diversity of the people of New Zealand, andthecontributions they have made and continue to make to New Zealand’s cultural lifeand the fabric of New Zealand societyendeavour to ensure both that the Museum expresses and recognises the manaand significance of Māori, European and other major traditions and culturalheritages and that the Museum provides the means for every such culture tocontribute effectively to the Museum as a statement of New Zealand’s identityendeavour to ensure that the Museum is a source of pride for all New Zealanders.Core Values25.
