School activitiesIn-School Activities:• Students have field trips that relate to topics of study in their classrooms. For example, ifthe students are learning about the history of Hanoi, they might take a field trip aroundthe city to prominent and important sights and buildings. Field trips are used to enhancelearning and understanding; there isalways an educational reason for fieldtrips.• Students have opportunities to learnand improve in the art classroom. Eachhomeroom class will have art on aregular basis, taught by a specializedart teacher.• Students also have music class on aregular basis taught by a specializedmusic teacher.• Students have physical education(P.E), on a regular basis taught by aspecialized P.E. teacher.• Students perform in different concertsand productions through the schoolyear.• There are many other activities in theclassroom that students participatein like class parties and celebrations,presentations, plays, and so muchmore.After School Activities:Concordia’s After School Activities (ASAs)provide enrichment opportunities forstudents. The program consists of four,seven-week sessions. Children pick one ASAper session. Participation is optional, butmost Concordia students wouldn’t want tomiss out. ASAs start at the end of the schoolday and last for 45 minutes.A wide variety of activities are offered everysession, from active games and dance tofine arts and crafts. Hobbies and life skillsmight be included as well throughout theyear. Each activity is sponsored and assisted, if needed, by teachers or volunteers who have aninterest or special set of skills that they want to share with the students.
