out of the many possible candidate resonances. Cx and Cz results<br />

indicated that the excitation of P13(1900) (instead of D13(1895 MeV))<br />

resonance was apparently necessary to fit the data [57].<br />

The amount of data for electroproduction is substantially smaller.<br />

Hall C experiment E93-018 at Jlab performed the first precise Rosenbluth<br />

separation of cross-sections into longitudinal and transverse<br />

parts [42]. CLAS results for the transfer of longitudinal polarization of<br />

the virtual photon to the produced hyperon were also published in<br />

[58]. Latest results concern the first measurements of the longitudinaltransverse<br />

polarized structure function in electron scattering from an<br />

unpolarized target [59]. This data poses a new challenge to the models<br />

since strong interference effects have been observed. A1 collaboration<br />

has also recently measured this observable (before its completion<br />

as a double arm spectrometer) using one of the existing spectrometers<br />

for electron detection. This experiment continues the series of<br />

measurements at low Q 2 initiated in this thesis.
