Residents in Midlands please take note thatin future stationary cameras are to be deployed in the estate and speed will be measured – thecameras will detect speed violations 24 hours a day – 7 days a week.For those with fast and noisypull-aways...Residents staying close to the accessgates have approached the HOAs withthe request to rein in the fast and noisypull aways of certain road users, by installingspeed bumps within 40 metersof the boom gates. This is a special requestto those with fast cars - please resistthe Formula 1 pull away when theboom opens!
7News from the HOA / Nuus van die HEVIntroducing Wynand Schoeman –the Estate/ Security Manager forMidfield EstateThe Midfield HOA board appointed WynandSchoeman in the joint position of estate and securitymanager from 1 July 2010. Wynand wasborn in the Freestate, matriculated in Theunissenand thereafter joined the SA Police where hecompleted 27 years of duty. He studied part timeand obtained his Honour’s Degree in Police Science.After teaching Crime Investigation at theTshwane University of Technology, he joined thesecurity management team of Midrand Estates in2007. In addition to his new position as estate/security manager at Midfield Estate, Wynand, inaccordance with the SASSETA skills programme,is in charge of the in-house training and assessmentof the security officers in Midrand Estates.Wynand is married to Francis, and in his free timeenjoys walking trails and playing with his Rottweilers.We wish him well in his personal and professionalendeavours.Feedback on security for July & August 2010.The virtually spotless record on security receiveda dent over the past two months withtwo incidents. In the first incident, four personsgained access to Midstream Estate byimpersonating police officers under the pretenseof delivering a subpoena to a specificresident. On arrival at the resident’s housethe family was tied up and the family robbed.The offenders left the estate with blue flashinglights. During the ensuing investigation threeculprits were identified and arrested and areawaiting trial.In the second incident an armed robbery tookplace on a Saturday morning at Ashford Houseoffice complex when the perpertrators surveyedthe area under guise of asking for directionsand then returned to rob the occupantMIDRAND ESTATES HOA’Sfrom a cell phone and lap top computer.The security management team and guardshave taken steps to tighten security and requestresidents to maintain their guard in thefight against crime.Residents passing through the Windsor andOld Kent gates to take note that a new accesssoftware package will be implemented soon.All residents and their family members as wellas domestic workers must be enrolled againthrough the capture of a new set of fingerprints as well as a photo. Registration takesplace from 06:00 to 18:00, seven days a weekat the Old Kent gate, with all to be enrolledby 4 October 2010 – (ID-document or driver’slicense to be presented as well)Dates of the HOA Annual General MeetingsResidents are requested to take note of the dates set down for the AGMs of the localHOAs, being:Midstream HOA - 21 October 2010;Midfield HOA - 9 November 2010;Midlands HOA - 16 November 2010.Full particulars to be circulated soon by the respective HOAs.
