the stellar work of John DeSantis, as well as thearticulate planning of the members of the Boardof Directors, which is made up of both Italian andItalian-American leaders throughout the State ofNew York; andWHEREAS, The year 2013 has been designatedby the Government of Italy through the Offices ofthe Foreign Ministry of Italy and the Embassy inWashington, DC, as the Year of Italian Culture in theUnited States; andWHEREAS, It is the custom of this LegislativeBody that when individuals and committees of suchnoble aims and accomplishments are brought to ourattention, they should be celebrated and recognizedby all the citizens of this great Empire State; now,therefore, be itRESOLVED, That the Legislative Body pause inits deliberations to commend the Italian Heritageand Culture Committee of New York, Inc. upon theoccasion of hosting its 37th Annual Italian Heritageand Culture Celebration, and to extend best wishesto the President/Chair Joseph Sciame, and allmembers of the IHCC Board of Directors as theyembark on a year-long celebration; and be it furtherRESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution,suitably engrossed, be transmitted to JosephSciame, President/Chair, Italian Heritage and CultureCommittee of New York, Inc.ADOPTED IN SENATE ONBy order of the SenateApril 17, 2013Francis W.
