apostolate of the Society, in obedience to theGeneral Superior;b. To living an apostolic life according to theConstitutions and Directives of the Society (cf. C 14 &C 15);c. to giving his work freely, without payment,throughout his life (cf. C 16);d. ‘to a generous loyalty to the Society, serving itand promoting its efficiency to the best of hispowers' (Cardinal Vaughan).C36A Perpetual Member of the Society has the followingrights:a. to board and lodging, and to a personalallowance;b. to companionship, to hospitality, and the supportof an apostolic community in fulfilling his missionarytask (cf. C 17);c. to periodic holidays (cf. D 40); to care insickness and in old age; and to provision of such needsas have been recognised by the Society;d. to spiritual support from fellow missionariesduring his life as well as prayers for him after death;e. to an active and passive vote in the election ofdelegates to the General Chapter, and to participationin other appropriate electoral procedures (cf. C 59).10
