a fantastic outdoor<br />

performance of As the<br />

World Tipped from Wired<br />

Aerial Theatre which is set<br />

to amaze crowds with its<br />

spectacular aerial theatre<br />

and dramatic visuals set<br />

against the night sky;<br />

100 cyclists will take part<br />

in Ballet Bicycle, a visual<br />

spectacle on wheels that<br />

explores the highs and<br />

lows of urban cycling;<br />

BBC Introducing will<br />

showcase more local<br />

music talent; chart<br />

topping Scouting for<br />

Girls will appear at the<br />

Embassy Theatre and a live<br />

broadcast of La P richole<br />

will be screened direct<br />

from Garsington Opera<br />

in Oxfordshire to the big<br />

screen on the beach at<br />

Skegness. A large-scale<br />

firework event will offer a<br />

spectacular festival finale.<br />

Follow<br />

The Light<br />

Follow the Light is a<br />

special mass-participatory<br />

commission from carnival<br />

pioneers Mahogany and<br />

Serendipity who will work<br />

with local communities<br />

to create a spectacular<br />

on-street procession to<br />

welcome the Olympic<br />

Flame as it travels through<br />

the <strong>East</strong> <strong>Midlands</strong>.<br />

Each procession will feature<br />

at least 100 local people<br />

dressed in Mahogany’s<br />

trademark costumes, dhol<br />

players, djembe drummers,<br />

a specially-commissioned<br />

musical score and<br />

choreographed sequences.<br />
