The Olympic Flame<br />
travels through the<br />
towns and villages of<br />
Derbyshire, passing on<br />
its journey a series of<br />
nine commemorative<br />
milestones engraved with<br />
poetry by the Derbyshire<br />
Poet Laureate, Matt Black,<br />
before making its next<br />
evening stopover in Derby.<br />
Derby’s official evening<br />
celebration in Darley Park<br />
will feature music from<br />
Loick Essien, a performance<br />
by Landau Forte Youth<br />
Theatre (directed by Tony<br />
Coffey), the Trinity Band<br />
and sinfonia ViVA.<br />
The celebrations will<br />
continue until midnight with<br />
Follow the Light (pg 19)<br />
taking audiences to a party<br />
on Market Place with a<br />
vibrant stage programme<br />
of music, dancing and<br />
on-street entertainment.<br />

Leicester<br />
Monday 2 July<br />
On Monday 2 July the<br />
torch travels through<br />
Northamptonshire and<br />
Leicestershire before its<br />
final evening celebration<br />
in Leicester’s Abbey Park.<br />
The evening celebration<br />
will feature Morning Parade<br />
and local dance companies<br />
Nupur <strong>Arts</strong>, Desi Masti,<br />
Studio 79, Attitude<br />
Dance and Ellesmere<br />
College, with direction<br />
by Louise Katerega.<br />

Loughborough<br />
Tuesday 3 July<br />
The Olympic Flame<br />
leaves Leicester and<br />
travels to Loughborough<br />
University as the home<br />
of Team GB ahead of the<br />
Games. After morning<br />
celebrations, including a<br />
final outing for Follow the<br />
Light, the Flame leaves<br />
Loughborough, heading<br />
for Rutland Water where<br />
it will set sail on its route<br />
towards Peterborough.<br />
