Young Artists
A world of
ideas in a week
World Event Young Artists
is the first event of its
kind. In September 2012
it will showcase some of
the best emerging creative
talent from across the
globe, bringing 1,000
artists together in one
city – Nottingham – for
a festival that will stretch
across artforms: from live
music to dance, theatrical
installations to spoken
word, film to visual arts
and gastronomy.
World Event Young Artists
will attract international
audiences and media
attention as a unique
opportunity to see,
experience and interact with
exciting new work from the
next generation of artists
and cultural practitioners.
It will put Nottingham and
its line-up of internationally
regarded cultural
venues and alternative
spaces on the map.
It builds on the success
of the Biennale of Young
Artists from Europe and
the Mediterranean and is
hosted by UK Young Artists,
who were supported by
Igniting Ambition in 2010
for their first UK Young
Artists event in Derby.
The ambition is for
each future host nation
of the Olympic and
Paralympic Games to
stage World Event Young
Artists – so make sure
you don’t miss the first!

Asian Arts Agency
present the seriously
hot, larger-than-life,
Brooklyn based dhol ‘n’
brass band Red Baraat
from New York City for
their debut UK tour.
The nine piece band led
by dhol drummer Sunny
Jain consists of dhol,
drums, percussion, a
sousaphone and a five
piece horn section. The
band fuse the infectious
North Indian rhythms
of bhangra with funk,
jazz, Latin and go-go
and their sound is big,
brassy and full of energy.
Dig out your dancing
shoes and hot foot it
down to this performance,
you won’t regret it!
