her biography of<br />

<strong>Margarete</strong> <strong>Steiff</strong>.<br />

Karaoke – Everyone had a chance to prove their talent during a karaoke<br />

session with Marc Hermann from “Radio 7” from nearby Ulm.<br />

Manufacturing demonstration – <strong>At</strong>tendees were mesmerised as they<br />

watched the skilled hands of <strong>Steiff</strong> artisans bring a <strong>Steiff</strong> piece to life in<br />

front of their very eyes. This year’s showpiece was a beautiful lion on wheels<br />

replica.<br />

<strong>Steiff</strong> Club Exhibit – Those who stopped by the <strong>Steiff</strong> stand were<br />

treated to an exclusive first look at the new autumn collection.<br />

Hot Air Balloons – Capping off Saturday evening, hot air balloons were<br />

illuminated and glowed brightly against the night-time sky.<br />

Teddy Bear Workshop – 81 participants learned that it is much harder<br />

than it looks to make a Teddy bear. In this hands-on session, each person<br />

stuffed their own bear, sewed its claws and nose and attached the eyes.<br />

<strong>Steiff</strong> Auction – Conducted by TeddyDorado, this year’s event featured<br />

auctioneer Carsten Esser, who managed to sell every single lot in the<br />

auction. Highlights included Humpty Dumpty (“The Man from Mars”)<br />

at € 5,700, a Dicky bear at € 3,900, and edition #1 of a set of <strong>Steiff</strong> Summer<br />

bears (large and small) at € 1,500. Esser, managing director of TeddyDorado,<br />

said he named his company after “El Dorado” or “City of Gold,” signifying
