Get on and go!<strong>Downey</strong>LINKTransit SystemThe <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Downey</strong>’s public transit system, <strong>Downey</strong>LINK, operatesMonday through Friday from 6:30am to 6:30pm with four circulatingroutes. All routes begin and end at the <strong>Downey</strong> Depot TransportationCenter located at 8150 Nance Street (one block south <strong>of</strong> FirestoneBlvd. <strong>of</strong>f <strong>Downey</strong> Avenue).The fare is 50¢ a ride with free transfers to the other <strong>Downey</strong>LINKroutes when transfers are sequential. Riders may transfer from one<strong>Downey</strong>LINK route to another—ask the Driver for a transfer. (Note:MTA transfers or passes are not accepted on <strong>Downey</strong>LINK and<strong>Downey</strong>LINK transfers are not valid for use on MTA vehicles.)Disabled riders with a valid ACCESS Services identification card ridefree. The <strong>Downey</strong>LINK <strong>of</strong>fice phone is (562) 529-5465.Green Line AccessThe Southeast Route <strong>of</strong> <strong>Downey</strong>LINK will embark and disembarkpassengers at a stop south <strong>of</strong> the Lakewood Green Line Station onGardendale east <strong>of</strong> Lakewood Blvd. For more information regarding<strong>Downey</strong>LINK services, please phone (562) 529-5465.30-Use Bus TicketsRiders may purchase a 30-use bus ticket book available for $15per book. The 30-use bus ticket books are non-refundable, nonreplaceable,non-transferable. We are not responsible for lost,damaged or stolen ticket books; please keep in a safe place becauselost or stolen ticket books will not be replaced. The 30-use bus ticketswill allow riders to use tickets on each boarding in lieu <strong>of</strong> cash andcan be deposited in the fare box. Transfers between routs are stillfree. For your convenience, 30-use bus ticket books are available forpurchase. Cash or check only, made out to the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Downey</strong>. Ticketbooks locations and hours are: <strong>Downey</strong> <strong>City</strong> Hall Finance Department,11111 Brookshire Ave, Monday through Friday, 7:30am until 5:00pm,or are available at the Transit Depot 8150 Nance Street.Eligible senior riders may request rides to the Wednesday SummerConcerts at Furman Park starting on June 2 by calling the Dial-A-Ride <strong>of</strong>fice .Dial-A-Ride serves senior citizens (65 years or older) and the disabledcommunity. To apply for this valuable program, please call the Dial-A-Ride <strong>of</strong>fice at (562) 904-7215.This service is a “shared ride,” curb-to-curb service for individuals whocannot use <strong>Downey</strong>LINK. Trip reservations for medical appointmentsmay be made one week in advance. Reservations for all othertrips may be made one day in advance starting at 8am on a “spaceavailable” basis. Six Dial-A-Ride buses operate Monday throughFriday, three buses operate on Saturday, and two buses on Sunday.The fare is 25¢ a ride.Call (562) 904-7215 to request an application or to make anappointment. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00amuntil 4:30pm and Saturday from 8:00am until 3:30pm. Closed for all<strong>City</strong> holidays.MTA Bus PassesOne or two week MTA bus passes may be purchased anytime during<strong>City</strong> Hall’s regular business hours. In addition, if you have a TAP card,the new MTA fare payment system, you can now have your TAP cardelectronically loaded with passes at the <strong>Downey</strong> <strong>City</strong> Hall is locatedat 11111 Brookshire Avenue, <strong>Downey</strong>, CA 90241. The Cashier’swindow is located on the ground floor directly across the lobby fromthe front doors.Senior citizens, disabled persons, students, and vocational passesmay be obtained during <strong>City</strong> Hall’s business hours, Monday-Friday,7:30am-5:00pm. <strong>City</strong> Hall closed for the following holidays: Mon.,May 26, Fri., July 4, Mon., Sept. 1, Tues., Nov. 11, Thurs., Nov. 27, Fri.,Nov. 28, Thurs., Dec. 25, Fri., Dec. 26, Thurs.
