This could cover national and local rules governing smoke-freeenvironments and the law prohibiting the sale of tobacco to children and adolescents.This will contribute to enhancing the enforcement of the laws.(B) Information for retailersThe municipality contributes to disseminating information to retailers and supportsthe messages on the rules prohibiting the sale of tobacco to people younger than 18years of age. This will increase retailers’ understanding of the rationale for the lawand thereby improve compliance.(D) Proactive information activitiesThrough proactive activities, the municipality ensures that the general public andbusiness are continually informed about legislation and local rules governingsmoke-free environments and the fact that selling tobacco to people younger than18 years of age is prohibited. This can take place via expanded collaboration withthe local chamber of commerce and the police.
