System configurator and order-information guideE <strong>PRIMERGY</strong> <strong>RX200</strong> <strong>S4</strong> Status 2009-05-28For the Memory Mirroring mode two identical memory modules pairs (branch 0 & 1) are necessary.( bank1 of branch 0 and 1 contain identical memory pairs )Therefore the following upgrade memory has to be ordered additionally:1.) Minimum one time the same capacity like the selected first Memory of the basic unit =2.) For addtitional memory 2x the same capacity =The function Memory Mirroring can be configured per BIOS setup.For mirrored memory configurations the following items have to be considered:Capacity: 50% of the configured memoryAvailability: Maximum memory availabilityAfter non-correctable errors or too many correctable errorsthe Mirror takes over immediately and the system remains online.Performance: 2-way interleave only in mirror configurations,therefore potentially not max. performance- Function Hot Spare Memory.- If three banks of one branch are equipped with memory pairs, the third bankcan be defined as hot spare memory bank. The capacity of the hot spare memory has to be equalor bigger than the capacity of the biggest capacity installed in the lower bank numbers.The function Hot Spare Memory can be configured per BIOS setup.For Hot Spare Memory configurations the following items have to be considered:Capacity:Availability:Performance:2/3 of the configured memory if the third bank is the hot spare bankand each bank is equipped with the same modul capacity.Less memory availability.
