ACCIDENTSIn case of an injury, the student must notify the yard duty supervisor and office immediately. In orderfor incident forms to be issued, the accident must be reported when it happens. <strong>Parent</strong>s are notifiedimmediately in case of sudden illness or serious injury.<strong>Parent</strong>s may purchase supplemental accident health insurance from the Meyer-<strong>St</strong>evens Group.Forms are sent home at the beginning of each school year.BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL SUPERVISIONThere is no supervision on the grounds before 7:45 a.m. unless prearranged with the school office.CHILDREN MAY NOT BE DROPPED OFF ON THE SCHOOL GROUNDS BEFORE THIS TIME.Children are expected to leave the grounds at 3:00 p.m. unless they are under the direct supervisionof a teacher or coach. Children wait to be picked up in front of the school on Harris <strong>St</strong>reet where ateacher is on duty until 3:15 p.m. <strong><strong>St</strong>udent</strong>s who are not picked up by 3:15 p.m. will be taken tothe Extended Care building for supervision. <strong>Parent</strong>s will be charged for this service.Under no circumstances are children to be in Lacey Park or waiting in other areas (Florinda <strong>St</strong>.,Parish Office or Hospital) unless with a coach or teacher. This is an important safety regulation.Any child remaining after school for extracurricular activities will be taken to Extended Care at theconclusion of the activity unless other arrangements are made by the parent. <strong>Parent</strong>s will becharged.BICYCLES<strong><strong>St</strong>udent</strong>s who ride bikes to school must obey all traffic laws and the directions of the safety patrolstudents. <strong><strong>St</strong>udent</strong>s are to walk their bikes in front of the school. Bikes must be parked in the racksprovided and must be locked. No student may loiter around the bicycles at any time. Bicycles arenot to be ridden on the school grounds at any time.COMMUNICABLE DISEASES<strong>St</strong>. <strong>Rose</strong>-<strong>McCarthy</strong> <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>School</strong> works cooperatively with <strong>St</strong>ate and local health agencies toprevent, control, and contain communicable diseases. Communicable disease can be a seriousconcern for both the afflicted person and the school community. Each communicable disease caseshall be judged on its own merits following the policies and procedures established by the Diocese ofFresno. <strong>Parent</strong>s/guardians must immediately notify the school office if they suspect or know thattheir child has been exposed to or has a communicable disease that may present a serious healththreat to their child or to others.CROSSWALKS AND PATROL<strong><strong>St</strong>udent</strong>s in grades six to eight serve as crossing guards before and after school. Crossingis allowed only at the crosswalk in front of the school. <strong><strong>St</strong>udent</strong> patrol officers are on dutybefore and after school and must be obeyed. Please set a good example. Do not ask yourchild to jaywalk to reach your car. <strong>Parent</strong>s dropping off and picking up children are not toleave cars unattended in the white zone in front of the school. Parking and waiting in thered zones is illegal and presents a serious safety issue for the students.23
