PARTIESClass parties celebrating certain holidays are arranged by the teacher who may ask the help of theroom parent. Invitations to private parties may not be passed out at school. If a parent of a birthdaychild wishes to send a treat to be shared with the class at morning recess, he/she should check withthe teacher before doing so. Parties must be approved by the teacher at least two weeks inadvance.SPORTS and EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIESTeachers/Moderators and coaches will determine eligibility for extra curricular activity based onthe following:1. <strong><strong>St</strong>udent</strong>s must maintain a “C” average with no grades of “F”.2. Conduct, effort and home study in the classroom and on the campus must be a gradeof “B" or better.3. Good deportment and attitude on practice and playing field should be shown at all times.Eligibility will be reviewed at mid quarter and quarterly periods.Administration reserves the right to detain students on game days or special activitydays for disciplinary reasons.4. Sports program is primarily for the 7 th and 8 th graders. At times, younger students maybe called up to fill teams.5. All students who play in any sport must maintain a 2.0 grade point average or better. All studentswill receive a uniform. Please keep uniforms clean and return washed at the end of each sport.All students will wear a <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Rose</strong>-<strong>McCarthy</strong> visor or cap when needed for any sport. No other visorsor caps may be worn.PHYSICAL EDUCATION (P.E.)All students are expected to participate in P.E. activities. In order to be excused, a written note mustbe provided by the parent. For prolonged or repeated excuses from P.E. a note from the physician isrequired. Sixth through eight grade students must be dressed in P.E. uniforms (see uniform policy).STUDENT COUNCILThe purpose of this organization is to promote good citizenship, to encourage a high standard ofscholarship, to arouse school spirit, to demonstrate the practical application of Christianity anddemocracy, to promote responsible leadership, and to advance the welfare of the school and itsmembers in every possible manner.TARDY POLICY<strong>School</strong> begins at 8:00 a.m. in the classroom. <strong><strong>St</strong>udent</strong>s who arrive after8:00 a.m. are marked tardy. Excessive tardiness will not be tolerated for the academic well being ofall the students. <strong><strong>St</strong>udent</strong>’s grades may be affected by excessive tardiness.Per quarter1 st - Tardy Slip2 nd - Tardy Slip3 rd - Detention (15 minutes)4 th - Detention (30 minutes)5 th - Conduct grade will be affected8
