8 Additional Glyphs <strong>for</strong> the <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-5 <strong>Character</strong> <strong>Collection</strong>This section contains a catalog of the 4,873 glyphs which, when added tothose in Sections 3 through 7 (Supplements 0 through 4), comprise the<strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-5 character collection. Thus, this section illustrates the glyphs<strong>for</strong> <strong>CID</strong>s 15444 through 20316 only; the complete <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-5 charactercollection consists of glyphs identified by <strong>CID</strong>s 0 through 20316.Supplement 5 contains additional glyphs beyond <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-4 that arenecessary to support the Apple Mac OS X Version 10.2 glyph set in itsentirety, including complete support <strong>for</strong> the JIS X 0213:2004 character setand all NLC (National Language Council [of Japan]) glyphs. Additionalglyphs are also included in this character collection above and beyond thoserequired <strong>for</strong> JIS X 0213:2004 and NLC support.8.1 Special NotesPlease make note of the following:• <strong>CID</strong>s 15449 through 15911 are intended to be proportional, and are <strong>for</strong>horizontal use (the pre-rotated versions of Latin and Latin-like glyphs are<strong>CID</strong>s 16469 through 16714).• <strong>CID</strong>s 15912 through 15975 are intended to be italic (their pre-rotated versionsare <strong>CID</strong>s 16715 through 16778).• <strong>CID</strong>s 15976 through 16192 are also intended to be proportional, but are<strong>for</strong> vertical use.• <strong>CID</strong>s 16352 through 16381 are additional horizontally-optimized kanaglyphs.• <strong>CID</strong>s 16382 through 16411 are additional vertically-optimized kanaglyphs.• <strong>CID</strong>s 16412 through 16468 are additional ruby <strong>for</strong>ms.8.2 JIS X 0213:2004 CoverageThe <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-5 character collection adds the necessary glyphs to completelycover the JIS X 0213:2004 character set, which contains 4,354 characters.The glyphs <strong>for</strong> some of the JIS X 0213:2004 characters are found inearlier Supplements, but the majority are in Supplement 5.
