4 Additional Glyphs <strong>for</strong> the <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-1 <strong>Character</strong> <strong>Collection</strong>This section contains a catalog of the 75 glyphs which, when added to thosein Section 3 (Supplement 0), comprise the <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-1 character collection.Thus, this section illustrates the glyphs <strong>for</strong> <strong>CID</strong>s 8284 through 8358only; the complete <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-1 character collection consists of glyphsidentified by <strong>CID</strong>s 0 through 8358.Supplement 1 contains the additional glyphs necessary to support the MacintoshKanjiTalk 7.1 character set and encoding, JIS X 0208-1990, and theFujitsu and NEC character sets (JIS90-based).Supplement 1 also includes two new kanji characters introduced inJIS X 0208-1990; their hexadecimal ISO-2022-JP codes are 0x7425 and0x7426 (Row-Cell 8405 and 8406). Also, the “heisei” era-name kanji ligaturewas added (<strong>CID</strong>=8323).4.1 Special NotesIn order <strong>for</strong> <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-4 (and above) <strong>CID</strong>-keyed fonts to be useful andmeaningful, the glyphs of all JIS X 0208:1997 kanji must be JIS90-compliant.This affects <strong>CID</strong>s 8284 and 8285 in Supplement 1.
