Thus, this section illustrates the glyphs<strong>for</strong> <strong>CID</strong>s 20317 through 23057 only; the complete <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-6 charactercollection consists of glyphs identified by <strong>CID</strong>s 0 through 23057.Supplement 6 contains additional glyphs beyond <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-5 that arenecessary to support the JIS X 0212-1990 and U-PRESS (developed byKyodo News) character sets. Note that very few additional glyphs areincluded in this character collection above and beyond those required <strong>for</strong> JISX 0212-1990 and U-PRESS support.9.1 Special NotesPlease make note of the following:• The glyphs <strong>for</strong> <strong>CID</strong>s 20317 through 20371 are intended to be proportional(their pre-rotated versions are <strong>CID</strong>s 20961 through 21015).• The glyphs <strong>for</strong> <strong>CID</strong>s 20372 through 20426 are intended to be italic (theirpre-rotated versions are <strong>CID</strong>s 21016 through 21070).• The glyph <strong>for</strong> <strong>CID</strong>=20958 has been intentionally left blank, and isreserved <strong>for</strong> future use.9.2 JIS C 6226-1978 CoverageThe glyph <strong>for</strong> <strong>CID</strong>=21071 is an additional (corrected) JIS78 (JIS C 6226-1978) <strong>for</strong>m, <strong>for</strong> Row-Cell 16-78. Compare this glyph with that of <strong>CID</strong>=7635of <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-0 (in Section 3).9.3 JIS X 0212-1990 CoverageThe <strong>Adobe</strong>-<strong>Japan1</strong>-6 character collection adds the necessary glyphs to completelycover the JIS X 0212-1990 character set, which contains 6,067 characters.The glyphs <strong>for</strong> the majority of the JIS X 0212-1990 characters arefound in earlier Supplements. The glyphs <strong>for</strong> <strong>CID</strong>s 21075 through 23057 are<strong>for</strong> JIS X 0212-1990 kanji.Due to the overlap of JIS X 0212-1990 and JIS X 0213:2004, some glyphsnecessarily differ, sometimes in subtle ways.
