POSTGRADUATEDIPLOMA PROGRAMMEPOSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITYAND DESIGN MANAGEMENTIHTTI’s Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality and DesignManagement has been designed to provide students witha broad understanding of the international hospitality andrelated industries. The programme has a dual perspective.On one hand it focuses on the daily operations within ahotel’s departments, on the other hand on the decisionmaking processes that lead to effective departmental andhotel management. The programme provides a foundationthat allows the student to work effectively within theHospitality industry and helps to build a career up toexecutive management level.The course is particularly useful for those who have alreadyobtained a university level qualification within anotherdiscipline and intend to become senior managers withininternational hotels, chains and resorts. It is equally relevantfor those who have significant industry experience and needan internationally recognised qualification to advance to thenext level in their career.PROGRAMME STRUCTUREThe 5 month academic term is based on hotel operationsmanagement and executive management studies. Subjectsare delivered in a combination of lectures, seminars andindustry based case study projects.The programme is completed with a 4 to 6 month optionalinternship or a 12 to 18 month management traineeprogramme depending on previous experience. Theinternship office arranges these internships. The internshipperiod provides a valuable insight into how businessesfunction within the industry.After successful completion of the programme, students willreceive a Postgraduate Diploma in Hospitality and DesignManagement.
