What is being done?1. Organization / reorganization of Disaster Coordinating Councils(DCCs), Disaster Control Groups (DCGs), Disaster Action Teams (DATs)and School Disaster Management Committees (SDMCs).2. Training the DCCs, DCGs, DATs and SDMCs on the following:• Disaster Management Training• Disaster Preparedness Training• Contingency Planning• Incident Command System• Disaster Risk Reduction• Rapid Damage Assessment & Needs Analysis3. Conduct of Hazard Mapping (in coordination with Mines & GeosciencesBureau as an RDCC member agency) on the following hazards:• Flood• Storm Surge• Landslide• Liquefaction4. Conduct of risk and vulnerability profiling (in coordination with LDCCs).


5. Coordination with LGUs for the relocation of threatened communities.6. Conduct of quarterly Earthquake Evacuation Drill in schools and offices (incoordination with DepEd, CHED, TESDA and DOLE).7. Issuance of warnings and bulletins to lower DCCs (in coordination withPhiVolcs & PAGASA).8. Conduct of Tsunami evacuation drills in tsunami prone communities.9. Coordinate with LGUs for the establishment, improvement and integrationof existing warning systems in communities.<strong>10</strong>. Disaster Monitoring / Reporting.11. Disaster Response Operations.12. Forging and strengthening network and linkages with UN, ASEAN andother international and national organizations and agencies.13. Conduct evaluation of National Calamity Fund requests.


What needs to be done?1. Strengthen Disaster Coordinating Councils (DCCs), Disaster ControlGroups (DCGs), Disaster Action Teams (DATs) and School DisasterManagement Committees (SDMCs).2. Continue training the DCCs, DCGs, DATs and SDMCs on the following:• Disaster Management Training• Disaster Preparedness Training• Contingency Planning• Incident Command System• Disaster Risk Reduction• Rapid Damage Assessment & Needs Analysis3. Coordinate for the integration of Disaster Risk Reduction in all levels of theplanning process of all LGUs (in coordination with NEDA).4. Encourage all schools to conduct regular Emergency Evacuation Drills andsimulations (in coordination with DepEd, CHED, TESDA and DOLE).5. Develop faster and more efficient systems in issuing warnings and bulletinsto lower DCCs (in coordination with PhiVolcs & PAGASA).


6. Conduct tsunami evacuation drills in all tsunami prone communities.7. Continue coordinating for the establishment, improvement and integrationof existing warning systems in communities.8. Develop more effective IEC materials (in coordination with PIA).9. Improve disaster monitoring systems.<strong>10</strong>. Disaster Response Operations.11. Continue the forging and strengthening of networks and linkages withUN, ASEAN and other international and national organizations andagencies.
