Jouanno, Lorient. 8236 FY 56 cannot be the correct registration as Lorient was only issuing three-digit<br />
registrations in 1964, when FY was current, and Van Hool weren't building Astrons. <strong>The</strong> correct version would be<br />
welcome, although either TY (assuming it was a T8xx Astron) or YF would be feasible.<br />
Bay Voyages, Surques. 1374 TZ 64 cannot be Ibs FR1 since the FR1 gave way to the Iliade in 1996, and Irisbus<br />
was not set up until 1999. <strong>The</strong> easiest way to distinguish the Iliade from the FR1 is by the large "elephant's ears"<br />
and the curved, almost smiling slot on the front panel – see the front cover. Unfortunately, the complexities of the<br />
French registration system mean that the vehicle could either be an Iliade or a secondhand FR1.<br />
