Academic Enrichment Program (AEP) AEP offers UC San Diego undergraduates the opportunity to obtain valuable research-oriented academic opportunities in virtually any academic major. AEP initiatives are designed to encourage such students to pursue a Ph.D., medical degree, or other advanced degrees. Participants receive assistance and guidance in applying for graduate school and various fellowships and scholarships and receive the chance to exchange ideas with other research undergraduates and faculty from across the country. Website: http://aep.ucsd.edu Box Office/Ticketing The UC San Diego Box Office, provides ticket sales for campus events as well as events on the TicketMaster system. The Box Office sells passes for area theaters, theme parks, student events, and more. Website: http://boxoffice.ucsd.edu/ Campus Community Centers The Cross-Cultural Center, the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Resource Center, and the Women’s Center are collectively know as the Campus community Centers. Together they facilitate interactive learning, promote self-awareness, foster leadership development, encourage dialogue, and challenge traditional notions of diversity: Cross-Cultural Center (CCC) The Cross-Cultural Center empowers UCSD to recognize, challenge, and take proactive approaches to diversity for the campus and the San Diego community. They provide opportunities for discovery through meaningful dialogues, art, programs, and outreach. The center provides education and support to all members of UCSD regarding gender issues, with the goal of promoting an inclusive and equitable campus community. Website: http://women.ucsd.edu University Resources http://warren.ucsd.edu Career Services (CSC) The Career Services Center assists students in clarifying skills, values, and interests, learning about the job market, and jobhunting strategies. Student Employment listings are also available for all on-campus jobs. Website: http://career.ucsd.edu/ Center for Ethics and Spirituality (CES) The Center for Ethics and Spirituality provides students with secular counseling, discussion, and educational programs relating to spiritual, moral, and ethical issues and questions that many arise within the UCSD community of students, scholars, workers, and campus affiliates. With over 400 organizations, there is an opportunity for everyone. Entrées, snacks, and gourmet espresso drinks are available on campus from 7:00am - 1:00am. Dining Plan, Triton Cash, and cash accepted. Website: hds.ucsd.edu/diningservices EDNA EDNA is the student information center. The staff at EDNA works hard to stay current with events and activities that are happening both on and off-campus. They are able to answer questions regarding services and facilities at UC San Diego and in the surrounding areas. Phone: (858) 534-3362 Intergroup Relations Program (IRP) IRP is the primary resource center for the UC San Diego campus for information, reporting, and resolution of hate/bias incidents. IRP provides a wide variety of programs and services relating to hate/bias prevention, mediation of student intergroup conflict, and issues that affect UCSD’s campus climate. Website: http://irp.ucsd.edu/ International Center The International Center is a multipurpose meeting place and student service facility dedicated to fostering cultural and educational exchange at UC San Diego. The center’s facilities include: the International Student/Scholar Office, Programs Abroad Office and Library, Friends of the International Center Office, and
Friends of the International Center Resale Shop. It can be reserved for events by calling (858) 534-6442. Cultural programs and activities open to the general campus include International Café every Friday, International Club, Language Exchange, International Partners Program, Wednesday Morning Coffee (for international spouses and children), American English-in- Action Tutor Program, lectures, films, educational programs, ethnic dinners, international potluck suppers, American cooking class, and volunteer opportunities. All students are eligible for OASIS programs. A description of services offered each quarter is available at the OASIS office. Website: http://oasis.ucsd.edu/ Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) The Office for Students with Disabilities facilitates many facets of student development and disability management. OSD promotes effective planning, adaptation, and enhanced awareness of students’ individual abilities. All students must submit disability documentation to OSD prior to service provision. Website: http://osd.ucsd.edu/ Post Office - U.S. Neighborhood Located in the Price Center, the U.S, Neighborhood Post Office offers mailing services, money orders, and mailbox rental. Hours of Operation: 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Credit cards and Triton Cash are not accepted. Price Center The Price Center offers a variety of services to meet the needs of students and the campus community. The Price Center is a popular place for eating, studying, surfing the Internet, running errands, and catching the latest feature film at the movie theatre. The University Bookstore, post office, game room, box office, food courts, and a cafe are all located here. Many student organizations refer to the Price Center as their home since the administrative offices of the Associated Students, University Events Office, and the Center for Student Involvement are all located there. RIMAC serves as a daily hub of student activity and a focal point for major events. The Student Center is located off the main campus walkway between Revelle and Muir Colleges, across from the Main Gym and next to Mandeville Center. Housing UC San Diego’s student-run co-ops and enterprises, the Student Center offers a wide variety of services aimed at improving campus life: Hi-Thai, the Food Co-op, the General Store, Porter’s Pub, the Crafts Center, the Grove Gallery, the UC San Diego Bike Shop, the student run radio and television stations, and the Guardian. It works like a check card, and information is linked to the magnetic strip of your student ID with no monthly charges or minimum balance requirements. Website: http://ueo.ucsd.edu Student Government, Associated Students (AS) Undergraduate students are members of the Associated Students at UC San Diego. The Associated Students Council, comprising appointed and elected positions, shares the privilege and responsibility of governance of the University with the campus administration and the Academic Senate. Elections are held annually each Spring quarter. The members of the AS Council exist to serve and represent students.
