All the subjects were selectedfrom age groups of 20 and 30 years and all subjecthad angle’s class I malocclusion and having at least28 teeth in functional form 11 .Reference points were marked with 1mm section oflead foil which was secured with zinc oxide paste onthe left side tragus and on the highest contour of thelower lip during smile zinc oxide paste (Figure.1).Figure 1 : Radioopaque markersmeared on the upper surface of the lower lipTable 1 – obtained data’s were tabulatedfor 50 samplesSamples Angle between Angle between Angle between Angle betweenOP-LPL OP-ATS OP-ATM OP-ATI1 13.27 19.19 15.03 12.272 12.97 21.60 16.70 13.203 13.69 21.38 17.31 13.834 17.68 25.40 21.30 17.705 15.23 22.87 20.24 17.516 5.28 15.68 12.34 8.887 18.35 13.01 9.51 6.098 11.47 18.55 14.24 10.829 19.75 24.36 19.27 15.2810 11.68 19.82 16.74 11.8411 12.73 12.87 11.07 9.0512 15.80 20.49 16.56 13.4313 16.60 20.42 16.62 14.7714 5.9 3.99 5.25 7.6515 9.13 15.68 13.93 9.616 21.15 20.54 18.83 16.617 8.94 17.99 16.96 15.3218 22.19 29.96 25.80 23.0519 1.57 19.37 16.21 13.5220 19.88 27.47 25.02 23.4121 16.92 17.66 14.64 13.9122 4.64 14.26 11.26 9.1623 26.37 21.8 19.84 17.1724 26.4 34.13 31.23 28.5425 16.55 21.68 17.76 13.9926 17.3 13.61 11.57 11.3727 8.34 14.85 14.03 8.4328 11.69 16.91 13.12 11.9229 14.45 23.53 18.51 14.7730 3.9 9.78 4.82 4.6731 25.86 31.28 29.59 29.4332 10.75 12.64 11.86 11.9233 4.8 26.26 24.15 18.3734 5.97 29.06 24.59 21.6235 4.76 24.25 19.68 17.3136 14.97 17.37 14.6 11.3537 5.57 23.78 20.42 16.6938 4.49 21.41 19.31 16.7939 5.76 17.22 14.08 11.2840 3.23 11.35 8.73 5.2641 3.88 8.98 5.97 4.4942 4.09 13.02 8.59 5.9143 4.42 7.78 5.01 4.6644 8.34 7.19 7.15 3.4245 6.68 17.19 14.22 11.2246 9.38 18.96 15.54 11.3647 11.31 15.27 11.74 7.3648 8.16 9.67 6.13 6.6149 7.84 23.61 18.89 14.5950 5.08 15.45 13.14 9.71Radiographs were made at 70kv at a fixed distance,in a radiograph machine [PLANMECA PROMAXPAN or PAN/CEPH USA.,]. All the subjects wererequested to smile during radiograph (figure.2).After obtaining the radiographs, tracing was carriedout. All the landmarks were identified and markedas dots on the sheet. By connecting the dots on thesheet, the reference lines and planes were drawn onthe tracing sheet such as, occlusal plane – OP, Lowerlip line plane - LP, Ala-tragus line (superior border –ATS, middle border – ATM, inferior border – ATI)546Indian Journal of Multidisciplinary Dentistry, Vol. 2, Issue 4, August-October 2012
