5 Streaming Settings5.1 Streaming URLsThis chapter gives an overview of the supported URL protocols. The general URL syntax is:protocol:// user : password @ address : port / pathProtocol Description Examplefile://http://icy://icyx://rtp://brtp://null://Local file playback (from USB storage or an SD card).Prefix is followed by a full path to a file or playlist.The “file://” prefix can be omitted.HTTP or Shoutcast/Icecast protocol.An IP/DNS address must be provided, usually is followedby a path to a playlist, file or stream. A specific TCP portcan be provided, otherwise standard port 80 is used. Incase user name/password are provided then theStreaming Client authenticates itself to the server withthe credentials.Real-time Transport Protocol.Requires an IP/DNS address and a UDP port. Theaddress can be:• 0.0.0.0 – any stream coming to the configuredport is played• multicast address – Streaming Client subscribesto the multicast group and plays the streamunicast address – only stream from that specific addressis played (source address filtering)<strong>Barix</strong> extension to RTP to pull a stream.Requires an IP/DNS address and a UDP port. Theaddress must be a unicast or multicast address. TheStreaming Client sends a request for RTP stream to theconfigured address and then plays the incoming stream.Special URL that does not output anything and is alwayspresent.Can be used in playlists to mute the output.E.g. if you use dynamically generated playlists withchannels and want to make certain channels unavailableto specific customers/devices.line:// Line input on Exstreamer 205.This URL is “present” only if channel 0 is selected. Itpasses analogue signal from the line input to thespeakers.To use line input on channel 0 and other channels forstreaming put “line://” into URL1 and your stream URLinto URL2.NOTE: the volume does not affect the line-in signalstrength, the signal is passed at fixed volume level. Anadditional attenuation can be configured in the “Audioand Playback” section of the Advanced settings.file:///music/backup.m3uhttp://www.barix.com/radio.m3urtp://0.0.0.0:3030brtp://null://line://5.2 URL Variable SubstitutionURLs may contain variables which are processed and substituted by their values.
