containing :Content of the update.txtVERSION=1FW_VERSION =0131FW_URL=http://www.myserver.net/streamingclient/update/compound.bin• configure your devices “Update URL” field withhttp://www.myserver.net/streamingclient/update/update.txt• push the “Apply” button on the WEB interface. The device will reboot and automaticallyupdate the firmware. If you want the device to check the update file every 30 minutes set theconfiguration field “Remote Update Period” to 30.IMPORTANT: Remote firmware update is supported only on devices with 2MB and moreflash memory. The flash memory size and availability of the firmware update can beretrieved from the device WEB UI via the &Lstate parameters 46 and 47.9.4 How to configure the device remotelyIn previous section we configured the HTTP server and the device for remote update andupdated the firmware. In this section we will use the same server and paths but will alter the fileupdate.txt.In this example we will change the streaming URLs and set volume to 25% (Volume range is 0to 20). Change the update.txt as follows:Content of the update.txtVERSION=2url2=rtp://85.124.188.115:4000url1=http://vruk.sc.llnwd.net:12265volume_100=62The device will change the three configuration fields and then reboot. In situations where we want to change temporarily (without rebooting) CGI commands can beused instead of configuration change directives. The following example shows how to change the volume without rebooting:Content of the update.txtVERSION=3v=10This way we can issue any CGI command. See chapter WEB for available commands.Device dependent update filesSometimes we need to update devices with different configurations. This can be easily doneusing the URL Variable Substitution in the Update URL.Let us imagine we have two devices and want to load them with different settings (e.g. to playtwo different radio stations).Let us assume the devices have IP addresses 192.168.2.100 and 192.168.2.101. Here is anexample how to do it:• Configure both devices with following Update URL:http://www.myserver.net/streamingclient/update/update-$IP$.txtBARIX AG | 48/58
