The PRE-SAFE anticipatoryoccupant protection system can detect criticaldriving situations as they start to arise and initiatemeasures to protect the occupants as a precaution.The front seat belts can be tensioned, while open sidewindows or the sliding sunroof can be closed, dependingon the driving situation and the car’s specification,meaning that the seat belts and airbags can be deployedas effectively as possible should an accident occur.Air cushions in the optionally available multicontourseats can be activated within seconds to help hold theoccupants in the front seats. What’s more, the separatelyavailable Memory function can move the front passenger’sseat into a more ideal position from an accidentstandpoint.
