In 1993 he received the Distinguished Service Award from the National Associationof County Agricultural Extension Agents. Mr. Stephenson was Past President (1985-86) of theRocky Mount Luncheon Lions and was named a Phillip Morris Fellow by the NC AgriculturalExtension Service in 1978.Surviving: wife, Emily L.
