District InformaticsSirmaur-ICT REVOLUTIONISING GOVERNANCESirmaur, situated in south-eastof Himachal Pradesh, wasfounded in 1616 as anindependent kingdom in India.It is largely mountainous andrural, with 90% of itspopulation living in villages. Itincludes the towns of Nahan(District Headquarters), as wellas the Shivalik Fossil Park atSuketi, where fossils of over 85million years old have beenfound. Agriculture is thebackbone of economy here.People worship deities (Devtas)just like people in many otherdistricts of the state. Hindi andPahari are the languagesspoken here. Some of themain services are:- eSamadhan-onlinecomplaint registration and status,SARATHI- Issuance/Renewal ofComputerised Driving Licenses,VAHAN- Registration of Vehicles,Certificate issuance, Telephone billpayments, Electricity bill payment,Passport Application Collection,Pension/Salary information etc.Electronic Gazette: The onlinesoftware to provide the notifications tothe Controller of Gazette for publishingthese in the Gazette (Rajpatra). The finalgazette is published on the Internet athttp://himachal.nic.in/egazette. Thecitizens and departments have access tothe search interface by selectingdepartment, date, keyword etc.Personnel MIS: The Personnel MIS is aconvenient and effective monitoringtool for employees to view their servicebook details covering personal,professional, family, education, training,leave, loans, ACR, Service History etc.at a click of button.
