Also, in <strong>the</strong> Census people self-reported<strong>the</strong>ir disability whereas <strong>the</strong> NDS used personal interviewing so that in a smallproportion of cases <strong>the</strong> status of some people changed from what had beenrecorded on <strong>the</strong> Census. As stated earlier, <strong>the</strong> ‘general population’ sample includedpeople not included in <strong>the</strong> Census, but who were subsequently identified as havinga disability, predominantly those disabilities not covered in <strong>the</strong> Census such as painand breathing difficulties.This in<strong>for</strong>mation is summarised in <strong>the</strong> table below.
