Sourcing & Procurement Asia Summit 2011 Our Esteemed Speakers: Pravin Purang, CPO and Advisor to Chairman and Board, Jindal Steel & Power, India Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) is the most valuable private steel producer in India, with an annual turnover of over US $2.1 billion (Rs. 11,000 crore). Mr. Purang is currently the Management Advisor & Group Head Procurement &Supply Chain Management, at Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. He has been Managing Director of Royal Enfield Motors (Eicher Group Company) and was also a member of the EICHER GROUP BOARD OF MANAGEMENT and a key member and active participant of CII, SIAM and Indian Institute of Materials Management. He has more than 30 years of Industrial experience and has worked through and contributed in various functions viz. She is a trainer for training courses on public procurement, tendering procedures for participants from line ministries and provinces; she also appraise procurement plans and bidding results of procurement packages under projects within the Prime Minister’s approval power, or appraise of other related contents in accordance with applicable law; she coordinates with colleagues in order to administer the procurement information system nationwide, including: the Public Procurement Newspaper and the Public Procurement website; International procurement cooperation; she is Deputy Director establishing the e Procurement system project in Vietnam. She was a coordinator of the Technical Assistance Project “Strengthening implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Public Procurement System” funded by WB (the TA completed in June 2009). She works in collaboration with colleagues to implement the project “APEC Seminar on Transparency in Procurement and E –procurement” funded by APEC; and execute other duties assigned by the Administrator and the Deputy Administrators of PPA. Ramesh heads a function which is of strategic importance to HP as it executes against the company’s corporate objective of being the world’s leading information technology company. Prior to joining HP, Ramesh spent the better part of his 29-year career transforming and running Supply Chain and Procurement operations in companies such as Motorola, Hughes Software Systems, National Panasonic and Indian Armed Forces. She has worked in both public and private sectors, providing leadership to multinational team members in Australia, USA, UAE, and Europe.
