This Decision is concerned with further terrorism definitions,matters around jurisdiction, MLA requests and the use <strong>of</strong> JITs in CT matters. Thiscreates a duty on Member States to share information with Europol, Eurojust, andother Member States. Again, when examining whether this measure is essential, itwas felt that we already share information and would continue to do this, whetherduty bound or not.26. 2006/317/CFSP - Concerning the conclusion <strong>of</strong> the Agreement betweenthe European Union and the Republic <strong>of</strong> Croatia on security proceduresfor the exchange <strong>of</strong> classified information. <strong>The</strong> UK does not use this.Exchange is done directly.27. 2006/467/CFSP - Concerning the conclusion <strong>of</strong> the Agreement betweenthe European Union and the Republic <strong>of</strong> Iceland on security proceduresfor the exchange <strong>of</strong> classified information. <strong>The</strong> UK does not use this.Exchange is done directly.28. 2006/783/JHA - <strong>The</strong> application <strong>of</strong> the principle <strong>of</strong> mutual recognitions toconfiscation orders. <strong>The</strong> UK has met its obligations by enacting the Proceeds <strong>of</strong>Crime Act 2002. It is possible that this may fall under a post Lisbon measure pre-2014.29. 2007/274/JHA - Concerning the conclusion <strong>of</strong> the Agreement between theEuropean Union and the Government <strong>of</strong> the United States <strong>of</strong> America onthe security <strong>of</strong> classified information. <strong>The</strong> UK does not use this. Exchange isdone directly.30. 2008/568/CFSP - Concerning the conclusion <strong>of</strong> the Agreement betweenthe European Union and the Swiss Confederation on security proceduresfor the exchange <strong>of</strong> classified information. <strong>The</strong> UK does not use this.Exchange is done directly.31. 2008/841/JHA - <strong>The</strong> fight against organised crime. Although this decision islargely a legislative one, it requires the proscription <strong>of</strong> matters (conspiracy) that haslong been an <strong>of</strong>fence in the UK anyway. <strong>The</strong>re is nothing to be gained by opting backinto it.32. 2009/820/CFSP - Agreement on Extradition and MLA between theEuropean Union and the United States <strong>of</strong> America. <strong>The</strong> US signed this treatywith the EU in 2003 and as a result the UK signed its treaty with the USA inDecember 2004. <strong>The</strong> EU treaty required each member state to negotiate a treatywith the USA and the UK has done so.33. 2009/902/JHA - Setting up a European Crime Prevention Network(EUCPN) and repealing Decision 2001/427/JHA. This is in effect an EU crimeprevention body. It brings together subject matter experts in the field andencourages ongoing good practice. Information from the ACPO lead confirms thatthis is not used by ACPO forces.26
