PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER Col Bev Brady The Wing Fall Fly Day and Cookout is set for October 18. As always, we’ll start flying around 1:00 p.m. so come out to the hangar and enjoy an afternoon of mingling with Jayhawk Wing members, families and guests, and take a ride in an airplane (free for members). We’ll fire up the grill to cook some burgers and dogs so we can eat around 5:00 p.m. Please bring appetizers, side dishes or desserts to share, and your own beverages, adult or otherwise. The Wing will furnish the burgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments and table service. You’ll be asked for a small donation ($3.00 - $4.00 per person) to cover the costs. Plans are in the works for the Wing’s Christmas party, too. We’re checking with Savute’s to see if they will be willing to host us again this year as they have been doing for so many years. The tentative date is Tuesday, December 8. I know that everyone’s social calendars start filling up fast for the holiday season, so save that date for the Wing’s Christmas Party (and announcement of new officers). Margaret and I marked it with a little help from Phyllis, Earl who as an Engineer, fixed the Pricing Gun with supervision from Chuck Harley. I am sorry that I am not going to be able to make trip this year but know all of you will have fun and sell the heck out of the merchandise. (Weather Permitting!) PARADE FLOAT TEAM MEETING There will be a Parade Float Team meeting at 6:30, Monday Oct 12, before the general membership meeting at 7:00 PM. Bring your ideas!! The theme is REMEMBERING THE WORLD WAR II VET and THE 65 TH ANNIVERSARY OF D-DAY. Come out and kick around some ideas! LETS HAVE FUN… ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DON’T FORGET THE AMERICAN GOLD STAR MOTHERS WICHITA PROJECT… The American Gold Star Mothers of Wichita are raising funds for this worthy project. They have adopted the Winfield Veterans Cemetery and the Fort Scott National Cemetery. They are accepting donations for one wreath at $15.00 at cost or as many as you would like to sponsor. If you know of someone that would like to help in this effort please print an extra form and give it to them. We also invite you to take part in the simultaneous Wreath laying ceremony to be held December 12, 2009 in Winfield, KS or Fort Scott, KS at 11:00am CDT.
