We shut down and proceeded to remove the prop dome to make the adjustment. About an hour later, we were
ready to start again. With John at the controls, we increased power slowly while taking all the temp. and press.
readings. When we reached take off power, we hit the numbers just as it was originally predicted! We are making
2000 HP at 2400 rpm with 44” of MAP. My sincere thanks to all that came out and those that have been involved
from the beginning. As much as it sounds like we are done with the #3 engine, nothing could be further from the
truth. Since the run, we had to remove the cowling, exhaust and prop to finish work on the cowling and exhaust.
We also had to remove the carburetor and send it back to the vendor for some minor adjustments that they can
only make on a flow bench. As I’m writing this, the cowling is back on, the prop will go back on this week and the
Rt. wing section that has been off the airplane for 1& 1/2 years will be here Tuesday morning. A lot to do but we’ll
have it back together for AirSho and continue working in preparation for the next engine.

Controller, Lindsey Pena. Lindsey can take your credit card contribution, or explain how you can contribute to the
B-29 project (see option #2 below). Your financial contribution goes directly to “FIFI”, again, your financial
contribution goes directly to her.
Option #2:
Write and send a check payable to the Commemorative Air Force and please write the aircraft FAA registration
number in the “note area” i.e.: For the B-29 “FIFI” write N-529B.
