Both are present in the Don.The distribution of trout extends to all parts of the catchment accessible to adult fish;resident trout populations have been found upstream of the obstacles mentioned abovealthough access for sea trout, like salmon, is obstructed. The detailed juvenile surveys ofShields found trout fry and/or 1+ parr at all 103 study sites spread throughout thecatchment, with the greatest densities in the tributary sites (Shields, 1996).8
