Management Discussion and AnalysisThe Group started to equity account for MBH’sfinancial results in its consolidated financialstatements from 1 July <strong>2007</strong>. Total dividend paymentfrom MBH to the Group amounted to HK$3.1 millionduring <strong>2007</strong>.In MBH’s <strong>2007</strong> final results statements, the Board ofMBH expressed its confidence over MBH’s prospectsfor 2008, believing that the continuing appeal of theTX4, the effect of the Euro 4 emission regulationschange in London in mid 2008 and the strength ofthe demand for TX4 outside London will all havepositive impacts in 2008.46.8%-owned Zhejiang Geely, Shanghai Maple,Zhejiang Kingkong, Hunan Geely and Zhejiang Ruhoo(“operating associates”) remained the key earningscontributors to the Group, accounting for the bulkof the Group’s earnings in <strong>2007</strong>. The operatingassociates sold a total of 181,517 units of Geely andMaple sedans in <strong>2007</strong>, up 10% over 2006. In particular, “Geely Kingkong”,the Group’s key new product last year, hasreceived very good market response and achieveda tremendous success in <strong>2007</strong> with a total salesvolume of 34,337 units, up 220% from the previousyear, and be<strong>com</strong>e the second best selling modelsof the operating associates during the period.“Free Cruiser” remained the associates’ best sellingmodels during <strong>2007</strong>, achieving 31% YoY increase insales volume to 68,258 units, or 38% of the operatingassociates’ total sales volume during the year,helped by the successful launch of 2008 version of“Free Cruiser” in October <strong>2007</strong>. Although “Vision”,the associates’ most strategic new product in <strong>2007</strong>,was only officially launched in May <strong>2007</strong>, the marketresponse has been encouraging so far with a totalof 11,540 units sold in <strong>2007</strong>. Monthly sales volume of“Vision” averaged over 2,200 units in the last quarterof <strong>2007</strong>, suggesting strong growth momentum in theyear of 2008.18ANNUAL REPORT 2 0 0 7
