The Kowloon Southern Link (KSL),●●3.8km in length, will extend West Rail from NamCheong Station at Sham Shui Po to East Rail's East TsimSha Tsui Station. By joining East Rail with West Rail, itwill provide the travelling public with a convenient anddirect point of transfer between these two railwaycorridors, forming a unified network.On 24 September 2002 the Government of the HongKong SAR invited the KCRC to proceed with thedetailed planning and design of the KSL Project. TheKSL scheme was initially gazetted on 26 March 2004,while proposed amendments to minimise disruption tothe public during the construction and operation of theKSL were gazetted on 7 January 2005.
Construction is expected to get underway in mid-2005 andthe forecast completion date is 2009.Upon completion of the KSL, it will take only 30 minutes totravel from Tin Shui Wai to Tsim Sha Tsui East.
