A Special Thank You to the People That Worked or Supported theAnnual Groomer Show Food Booth & Raffle February 2 nd & 3 rd , 2011This was my first year overseeing the Groomer Show Food Booth and I was amazed at the number of people that showed up to helpmake this another success for the club. For a change, an abundance of volunteers signed up for everything except baked goods and Ididn’t have to do any last minute begging for help. Special thanks go to the number of people that brought baked goods at the lastminute. Many of you simply dropped your baked goods off and were anonymous donors. Rich and Linda Polaski were there both daysto guide me through and Rich did almost all of the pre-show organization. Geri Shambo and Val Rybarczyk went above and beyond tohelp sell the baked goods and Ron Rhodes gets the Chili salesman of the year award. Gary Frank single handedly managed the raffle anotheryear. I was very thankful for the numbers of volunteers present for the set-up and take down. Those two tasks are the toughestand truly “many hands make light work”. It was nice to see club members visiting and sharing while they performed their duties.Thank you to all who helped. LANDOWNERSThe St. Germain Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club trail system encompassesmore than 100 miles of groomed trails. Our trailscross public and private land, and without the generous supportof landowners we wouldn't have the wonderful trail systemthat we have.Access to private land is a privilege, not a right. It is criticalthat we respect the property that we are privileged to use. That means staying on marked trails, not littering, and keepingnoise levels down when passing near residences. Weneed to remember that our actions affect everyone whowants to use private land for recreation. The St. Germain Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club wishes to expressits thanks to the gracious landowners who allow us to ride ontheir property. Candidate StatementsPresident—Richard P. PolaskiWell, I’m coming to the end of my first year as Presidentof a fine organization. I must have done something rightas I have not been impeached, disbarred or assassinated,or whatever they do nowadays. This has been a greatlearning experience and I am thankful for the assistanceof a fine Board of Directors & Officers who have kept meon the straight and narrow. The Board and I have handled a number of significant issuesduring this past year that have had a positive impacton the club as a whole. We would like to keep going inthat direction but can not do it without your support andinput. We do have the largest Club in the State of Wisconsinwith some of the finest trails in Northern Wisconsin orfor that fact throughout the State. One portion of my duties as President is to direct fundraisingefforts. Right now we do four events in a short periodof time. The Radar Race/Ice Drags, the Annual VogelGroomer Show, Vintage Race and the Snowmobile Hall ofFame Classic Snowmobile Round-Up. Money brought infrom these events support our grooming efforts, equipmentmaintenance and equipment enhancement. We cannot make a commitment to provide food at these events ifwe can not put together a reliable pool of workers. If itwere not for Gary Jacobi, Paul Bohnen, Tim Gebhardt andhis sons, Jacob & Nathan and a few others the Radar RaceFood Booth would have failed. I know that it’s not pleasantworking outside on the ice in below zero weather ormissing the start of an important Packer game but if weare going to do something lets do it right.I need your help and support to make this Club work andwill again run for the position of President with that understanding. Please find some time to donate to our upcomingefforts and support your Club.President-Elect—Allen M. ClemmensenI am a retired police Lieutenant from Rosemont, Illinoiswhere my duties included work scheduling, handling dailycomplaints, meeting with the public, plus many otherfunctions related to their safety and welfare. For the last4 years I have resided in St. Germain full time on Little St.Germain Lake but have had rental property at Elbert’sResort since 1988 where I am currently the President onthe Board of Directors. As a crew chief for the Bo-Boen Snowmobile Club and trailgroomer I have volunteered my time for the St. GermainRadar Run and helping out the Club when needed as Ihave been a member for over 25 years. If elected pleaseknow that I will handle the responsibility as President-Elect for the Bo-Boen’s with the best of my abilities.Secretary—Pam GebhardtFor those of you who don’t know me, my name is PamGebhardt and I am running for Secretary. My husband Tim andI have lived in St. Germain for almost 19 years. We have twosons, Jacob & Nathan. During the past 5 years or so, our familyhas become increasingly more involved in the activities ofour club. I have been creating the clubs newsletter for thepast two years, trying to keep you as informed as possible. Ifeel we are only as strong as our weakest member. So I strivefor a strong, informed membership! I would appreciate yoursupport and look forward to serving as your secretary for thenext year!Director—Bev DittmarI am running for the board again I feel my years of experiencekeeps the board current on what is happening. With the Governor'sCouncil, current legislation, etc. I feel our club shouldbe about the sport of snowmobiling, and how it effects thecommunity, not of prestige of the club. The club’s fundsshould be spent in the way that best serves the Club, not itsimage. Thank you for your vote.Director—Roger KleinWhen I was approached by the nominating committee for theboard of directors I accepted because of my interest in snowmobiling.I believe the Bo-Boen’s are the best snowmobileclub, with the best trail system, and have a successful partnershipwith the community. My wife Carla and I moved here permanently two years agofrom Muscatine, Iowa after I retired. We have owned propertyhere since 1985 and have been snowmobiling ever since.I have been riding with the Apple Dumpling Gang for the pasttwo seasons and will be president next year. This past fall Ilearned more about the trail system while assisting with trailbrushing.I have had experience serving on other boards as a director. Most recently, I was a director for six years with the United Wayof Muscatine and its president for one. Other boards I servedon were Boy Scouts of America as district Chairman, Rosecrans,a youth drug treatment facility, and an advisory board fora software company. I am familiar with budgeting and fundraisingfrom these affiliations and my previous work experienceas a CFO. I am also deputy treasurer of our church.I would work with the officers and other directors using my experienceto make the best decisions for our club, the sport, andour community.Director—Milton KlingpornTreasurer—Ed SiergiejI have accepted the nomination of the election committeeto run for one more year as treasurer. I look forward toworking with the other elected officers and directorsas our club remains to be the largest in the state. Ourclub being an important part of our community success Iwould like to ask for your support.
