Pre-<strong>Installation</strong> Information Chapter 2: <strong>Installation</strong>Siting RequirementsEnvironmentalElectricalThe unit is cooled by forced air drawn in from its right-h<strong>and</strong> side, <strong>and</strong>expelled through vents on the left-h<strong>and</strong> side. Consequently, there mustbe free passage for air flow at both sides of the unit to allow for adequateventilation. An ambient temperature should be maintained between32°F (0°C) <strong>and</strong> 104°F (40°C) at a relative humidity of 10%-90%(non-condensing).The rear panel is fitted with a st<strong>and</strong>ard IEC mains connector. A supply of100 V to 240 V, 50/60 Hz, is required.Rack Mounting RequirementsAlthough the chassis is providedwith st<strong>and</strong>ard front mountingears for securing to the rackaperture, it is recommended thatsuitable shelf supports beprovided within the rack. Failureto provide suitable shelfsupports may result inequipment damage <strong>and</strong>/orpersonal injury.The unit is designed for mounting into a st<strong>and</strong>ard 19 in. (483 mm) rack<strong>and</strong> occupies a vertical space of 2RU (3.5 in./90 mm). The chassis isprovided with st<strong>and</strong>ard front-mounting ears for securing to the rackaperture (see Figure 2-1).
