This studyfocused on <strong>the</strong> eastern, western, and mid-western regions <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nepal</strong>. Ilam, Dhankuta, Palpa,Dang, Salyan, Surkhet were selected as a sample districts for collection <strong>of</strong> farmer levelinformation, which might not adequately capture <strong>the</strong> nationwide scenario. At <strong>the</strong> <strong>market</strong>inglevel, sample <strong>market</strong>s <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nepal</strong> and some border cities <strong>of</strong> India were visited. It was notpossible to visit major international production sites as Assam, Bangalore, Cochin and Tibetwhich are <strong>the</strong> major competitors <strong>of</strong> <strong>Nepal</strong>i <strong>ginger</strong>.2. INDUSTRY ANALYSIS2.1 Production SituationIn <strong>Nepal</strong>, <strong>ginger</strong> is <strong>the</strong> topmost spice crop both in terms <strong>of</strong> area <strong>of</strong> cultivation and productionvolume.
