2. Connecting beam to columnPrecast beam is connected to column in a variety ofways. For non-rigid jointing, corbel is usually formedon the column to support the precast beam. However,anchorage provision should be provided to secure themembers from seismic or wind action.Rigid joint (moment resisting) is common for buildingrequiring stronger performance. In this case, haunchingarrangement by inserting link bars between the columnand beam members and infill the joint afterward withconcrete can often produce an acceptable joining result.It should be noted that suitable propping support shouldbe provided before the final setting of the joint.
