This motive is passed around among the woodwinds <strong>and</strong>trumpets. The motives modulate in the following order: F# minor, C major, B minor, B Dorian,<strong>and</strong> A Lydian.Measure 101 serves as an interlude from the second theme, notably with the descendingtritone.mm. 100-101Measure 109 marks the beginning <strong>of</strong> the development section. This section is comprised<strong>of</strong> manipulated fragments <strong>of</strong> the secondary <strong>and</strong> closing themes. The horns begin with the closingtheme in E Lydian.
